  4. So I went to take photos of this one (before it was destroyed obviously) and studied the similarities and/or differences between the two. It looks pretty real to me: http://i53.tinypic.com/25h1tdy.jpg

  7. ^^In your comparison photo you point out places where, if it was a fake, there would be differences. I feel like the major difference is the string from the kite coming out of the guys hand on Banksy's. The Washington one doesn't have the string. So it definitely a different stencil then Banksy's.

  9. I don't know what this Banksy company is or why these people seem to want to find all their buildings and tag on them, but I think it's awful.

  10. ^^ I believe Banksy chooses his canvases more wisely than most claimed artists do. Rather than throwing up the same piece over and over again in hope of getting street cred, or tagging or pasting on a pole or box that has been hit 100's of times. Banksy picks out his spots. Look at all the recent and past pieces then you will see more than a stenciled piece of work. Look at the building, look at the surroundings, look at the demographics of the area. i.e. Charlie Brown piece, Crayola Shooter, etc.

I agree with you that tags can not be considered art, although some can argue. You cant put taggers and artists in the same sentence - IMO.

Banksys pieces have more thought into it, which is what makes him more popular than other "artists".

I do find it amusing that people cut out his pieces from walls. That's like cutting out only the signature on a canvas.

  13. This does suck that it has been defaced, but you gotta admit that what banksy puts up is sometimes offensive. Especially to people who do not understand what banksy means by his pieces. If he wasn't pushing the limit of offensive, we wouldn't be admiring his work. It's a shame that someone would go this low, but it is kind of expected.
